University Of Arizona’s Online Greenhouse Plant Physiology Course

Calling all industry professionals with an interest in upgrading their plant knowledge. The University Of Arizona Outreach College is offering an online (non-credit) Greenhouse Plant Physiology Course from August 18 to October 26, taught by Professor Chieri Kubota of the School of Plant Sciences. This nine-week course, administrated through the University of Arizona Outreach College (UAOC), will offer students foundational information on major greenhouse environmental factors affecting plant growth and development and is equivalent to an upper-level college course. Students will understand interactions between plants and their microenvironments, including light penetration and CO2/H2O diffusion; energy and mass balance of leaves and canopy and how to correlate these phenomena with plant productivity and related plant physiological mechanisms; and key micrometeorological principles. Lectures cover controlled environment technologies and practices of plant production in greenhouses and high tunnels. More course information is available at ag.arizona.edu/ceac
