Mill 180 Park is an indoor hydroponic park, designed to mirror an urban outdoor park, right in the City of Easthampton. In a region where outside park usage is mostly in spring, summer and fall months, the purpose of Mill 180 Park is to provide an open, free and year-round green space for all to enjoy. Through the use of hydroponics, Mill 180 Park brings what would typically be outside to the inside. The park features games like cornhole, art installations, free Wi-Fi and a cafe that includes items that incorporate ingredients from the plants grown in-house. Mill 180 Park also hopes to bring local events to the public. “We plan to host spoken-word karaoke nights, talks and much more,” says Michael Sundel, managing director of Community Food Engine, the company responsible for Mill 180 Park. Mill 180 Park officially opened to the public in September 2016 and is located at 180 Pleasant Street in Easthampton.
